Introduction to Storytelling/Script Writing with Hollie Perry
This summer class will be a six-week introduction to storytelling in a script format. The class will compare literature and films then dive in by adapting a short story into a script that?s provided as well as writing their own. The final compositions can be used for either an oral performance and/or a keepsake. Hollie Perry received a degree in Media and Theatre Arts with an emphasis in writing from Hastings College. Following, she spent many years in Los Angeles working as a freelance professional Script Coordinator & Supervisor (in conjunction with teleprompting) working on everything from TV shows to short films. Reality TV shows included ?American Idol? to ?Dancing with the Stars.? Featured award shows included the primetime ?Emmys? to the ?Soul Train Awards.? Corporate presentations were done for Amgen to Major League Baseball among many others. Her writing includes plays, corporate training videos for Cable One and most recently a short film that got accepted to the New Filmmakers New York Screening Series & Festival in 2013 and is distributed by New Filmmakers Los Angeles. Hollie has over a decade of public speaking experience from working coast-to-coast entertaining audiences from Disney to Paramount. Because of this she has seen how any type of storytelling, but especially that relating to the detail in the dialogue, benefits not only careers in communication, but also other vast careers as well including those in the medical and legal fields. She hopes to continue to use her script, writing and speaking skills to assist local non-profits in their public video presentations and teach these story-telling skills to youth and adults alike. Her desire is that this will not only help benefit them in their work and school life, but in personal communication as well. Registration is required! Please email HOLLIE.ILBN@gmail.com to register.
