Reading Between the Pounds: Healthy Weight Book Club
Are you confused about all the conflicting information about diets and healthy eating? Would you like to read and discuss research-supported information about weight management to learn about internal and external influences on our current eating habits, and constructive ways to live more healthfully in a complex world? In this book club, the focus will be on reading about internal influences such as psychological, emotional, and physical issues, and external influences including environment, social media, and trends that may hinder our journeys to a healthy weight. Our goal is to discuss the skills we can learn to positively reinforce mindful eating towards a healthy weight for life. This is not a diet club. No weigh-ins, specific diets, or food supplements will be endorsed or sold. Some of the books to be discussed are: Mindful Eating, and Slim for Life by Dr. Brian Wansink The Diet Fix by Dr. Yoni Freedhoff You Are WHY You Eat by Dr. Ramani Duravasala A Big Fat Crisis by Dr. Deborah Cohen The End of Overeating by Dr. David A.
