Sep 13    Odd Fellows Poker Tournament
Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament and Games Fundraiser The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Loveland Lodge #36, a non-profit organization, is hosting a fundraising event at our lodge hall, the old Majestic Opera House in downtown Loveland. Built in 1903, the Majestic Opera House was a cultural highlight in downtown Loveland for a grand total of seventeen years. It then participated in the community in a rather different way as a saloon and dancehall for three years before being acquired by the Odd Fellows in 1923. Since then, the street level area has served as space for a variety of businesses including JC Penney. The space is now used as an event center for the community. Weddings and a spectrum of classes use the space as well as small business markets, which we host periodically. Unfortunately, the roof on our building is starting to fail. We can only patch leaks for so long. Come to our family fun night and help us raise money to repair our roof. We are hosting a free Texas Hold?em Poker tournament downstairs and Sudoku, Bingo and other board and strategy games upstairs. There will be prizes for top finishers in the poker tourney. A suggested donation of $15 would be appreciated, but certainly not required. Persons under 18 may not join in the Poker tournament, but all people 10 and up are welcome upstairs. All money collected will go to the roof repair fund. Thanks for your help preserving this Loveland landmark! Come and Play: September 13, 2014 at 315 E. 4th St., Loveland Doors open at 5pm, Cards fly at 5:30pm. For more info call Faith @ (970) 529-3275

Sep 20    Day for Kids STEAMfest
About Day for Kids
Unlike many other countries, America does not have an official day to celebrate its children. Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County, along with the support of other leading youth-serving organizations, is working to change that by establishing a Saturday in September each year as Boys & Girls Clubs Day for Kids.

Created as a day to foster relationships between adults and children, the mission of BGC Day for Kids is to establish a day to celebrate and honor American children through the gift of meaningful time. Research shows that when adults spend meaningful time with kids it helps them develop a positive self-image and a sense of belonging, usefulness and purpose. Now, more than ever, BGC Day for Kids provides adults and kids an opportunity to take a break from their busy lives and celebrate the wonder of life and the fulfillment of spending time together.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County Day for Kids, is the day we devote our hearts and our minds to our children.

STEAMfest
Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County provides the premier Northern Colorado STEAM event for youth and their families. This FREE event unites local STEM and STEAM related offerings around a day of celebration, hands on STEAM activities, and FUN!

As a nation, youth proficiency in STEAM subjects are dropping. STEAM education is closely linked with our nation’s economic prosperity in the modern global economy. STEAMfest provides opportunities for youth to engage in fun, hands on activities that can help them with academic achievement and encourage furthering their education in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

The entire community is invited to come out and enjoy the day!
