This certificate program equips IT leaders with the skills to deliver break-through business results.\n\n\n\nSession One:\n\nFundamentals of Information Technology Leadership\n\nFriday\, September 13\, 8:30 a.m. to noon\n\nLeadership often conjures many different responses\, especially in high stress industries like IT. What does it mean to be a manager verses a leader? Learn the definitions of leadership and characteristics of leaders who successfully interact with their teams. Strategic topics covered include interviewing and staffing\, effective job design\, and providing effective supervisory feedback. This session also covers legal and ethical considerations while in a supervisory role.\n\n\n\nSession Two:\n\nThe High-Performance Team\n\nFriday\, September 27\, 8:30 a.m. to noon\n\nThe team you lead is a determining factor in successful IT business practices. Understanding the multitude of personalities you are facilitating and what leadership style individual team members respond to is crucial. This session covers personality types\, leadership styles\, emotional intelligence\, building high-performing teams\, and diversity and inclusion. Participants will also examine succession planning and how it affects your team.\n\n\n\nSession Three:\n\nLeadership Across the Organization\n\nFriday\, October 11\, 8:30 a.m. to noon\n\nAs a business grows\, the communication and organization systems in their many facets must be considered. Examining models of effective organizational design and leadership communication\, this session focuses on actionable techniques\, such as breaking down the negotiation process\, interfacing with senior leadership\, and establishing an executive presence.\n\n\n\nSession Four:\n\nLeadership in the New Economy\n\nFriday\, October 25\, 8:30 a.m. to noon\n\nIn the ever-fluctuating business world\, new leaders must understand and analyze the economy. Leadership through uncertainty is a mark of an effective manager and necessary for the changing workforce.
