An Artist Panel featuring participants in the Loveland Museum/Gallery exhibit Portrait of the Artist will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 5:00 pm. Portrait of the Artist is on display at the museum through February 5, 2012 in the Foote Gallery. Juried by Kyle MacMillan, arts writer for The Denver Post, the exhibit is inspired by the portraiture of Chuck Close and the exhibit A Couple of Ways of Doing Something, on display through December 31, 2011.
Local artists display portraits of themselves or their fellow artists in the Portrait of the Artist. The intent of the exhibit is to explore a wide variety of methods and mediums applied to portraiture, while highlighting the quality artistic offerings available within our Front Range communities.
The Artist Panel on December 8 will feature Fran Judd, Bruce Gueswel, Mary Recchia, Matthew Hunzeker and V.V.R. Reeves, with Doug Erion moderating.
Artists represented in the exhibit include: John Cross, George De Grazio, Doug Erion, Leslie Gifford, Bruce Gueswel, Colleen Hoerner, Matthew Hunzeker, Sheldon James, Fran Judd, Jack Kreutzer, Charles Luna, Ron McDowell, Tony Ortega, Mary Recchia, V.V.R.
