Loveland, CO --- The Worldwide Candle Lighting Vigil to remember and honor the memory of beloved children who have died will be held Sunday, December 11 at the McKee Conference & Wellness Center at 6:30 p.m.
The second Sunday in December is National Children’s Memorial Day. The candle lighting vigil is part of a worldwide event in which candles are lit in every time zone around the world at 7:00 p.m., beginning in New Zealand. For a 24-hour period, candles burn in remembrance of children who have died.
The vigil will begin in the McKee Conference & Wellness Center located at 2000 Boise Avenue in Loveland. Participants will gather for an invocation then follow a bagpipe processional to the candle lighting, to be held at the Angel for Lost Children statue on the McKee Wellness and Nature Walk. The event is hosted by the McKee Medical Center Foundation and Pathways Hospice – Community Care for Northern Colorado. Attendees will be served refreshments following the ceremony.
Family and friends who have lost a child through death are invited to attend the vigil and remember and honor the memory of children who have passed away. If you would like to have a child’s name written on one of the luminaries that will light the pathway, free of charge, please call (970) 593-6038 by Dec. 9. This event will take place regardless of weather, so dress warmly.
