City of Loveland Business Appreciation Breakfast Slated for Sept. 5
Two NASA executives join City Council and staff to thank Loveland businesses and
propel Loveland forward
LOVELAND, Colo. – Aug. 27, 2012 – The city of Loveland’s annual Business
Appreciation Breakfast, hosted by City Council to celebrate and thank the local business
community, is slated for 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., Wed. Sept. 5, at Embassy Suites Loveland,
4705 Clydesdale Parkway. The event, with the timely theme, ‘Loveland’s Economy is
Taking Off,’ will feature two key NASA executives: Dr. Ramon (Ray) Lugo II, director
of NASA’s John H. Glenn Research Center and Diana Hoyt, NASA chief technologist’s
manager of innovation and strategic partnership. Between 400-500 business owners and
managers are expected to this free event. Registration is open until 5 p.m. Aug. 31.
Dr. Lugo III is the keynote speaker for the event. In his role with NASA, he is
responsible for planning, organizing and directing the activities required in
accomplishing the missions assigned to the John H. Glenn Research Center. Glenn is
engaged in research, technology and system development programs in space propulsion,
space power, space communications, aeronautical propulsion and microgravity sciences.
Hoyt will offer a greeting from NASA headquarters to event attendees.
“The goal of the City Council’s annual Business Appreciation Breakfast is to thank our
businesses for their ongoing support and commitment to Loveland as well as to inspire
and celebrate what the city and businesses together are doing to advance our
community,” said City of Loveland Economic Development Director Betsey Hale. “We
are proud of our relationship with NASA and the opportunity to bring in key NASA
executives to evoke inspiration and excitement among our local business professionals.”
The City is committed to economic development and supporting its current businesses,
which has been demonstrated through the recent strategic plan development, downtown
redevelopment, destination tourism launch and the advancements that the City has and
will continue to make with the Rocky Mountain Center for Innovation and Technology
(RMCIT).
In addition to NASA presentations, Mayor Cecil Gutierrez will address attendees; Beth
Beyer with Music Together will sing the national anthem and Loveland High School’s
Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. Color Guard will perform. Interested attendees
