And we couldn’t think of a better duo to kick off the relaunch than Jess Caudill and Courtney Schwartzel, founders of Alta Velas—because their story started right here at desk chair.

For years, you may have seen Jess and Courtney around the workspace, each running their own companies, serving their own clients, and building impressive careers. Jess spent eight years helping grow and lead a SaaS company through its successful acquisition, ultimately serving as COO and Acting CEO. Courtney founded Pilot Management in 2011 and has spent 15 years working alongside businesses across a wide range of industries as a fractional CMO, operational partner, and PMP-certified leader.

Then, a connection at desk chair changed things.

A shared workspace turned into an honest conversation. That conversation became a weekly accountability meeting. Eventually, they realized their individual strengths in operations, marketing, strategy, and leadership were even stronger together—and Alta Velas was born.
