This month, we're excited to welcome Linda Ligon, founder of Interweave Press, a longtime Deskchair tenant, and one of the most seasoned business builders in our community.

Linda started Interweave Press in 1975 — a niche publishing company she grew from the ground up. In 1990, she renovated and moved into the very building we're gathering in today, and over the years that followed she expanded into three companies: Interweave, Herb Companion, and Natural Home.

In 2005, she sold the companies.

But Linda wasn't finished. In 2010, she launched Thrums Books, and twelve years later, sold that too — and became a partner in Long Thread Media.

Along the way, she and her husband raised three children, who have since moved here and there and given them eight grandchildren. And through all of it, Linda has never really left: she still occupies and works in an office at Deskchair, just steps from where we'll be meeting.

At dc Connect, Linda will share more about her journey, the lessons she's learned building, growing, and selling businesses across four decades, and what keeps her showing up to work she loves.
