Sponsored by The Friends of the Library, this free event will be one day only, and will feature a bake sale, holiday book sale, holiday tradition displays, trees decorated by several community organizations, and a wood carvers’ demonstration. Children may participate in one of two morning gingerbread house workshops (9:30 or 11 a.m.). Tickets for the children’s workshops are free but limited to 50 per session and can be obtained at the library starting at 9 a.m. At 1 p.m. a holiday party food demonstration will provide visitors with ideas and suggestions for a successful party. At 3 p.m. the First United Methodist Bell Choir will present a bell concert in the Gertrude Scott Room. All day, children may search for and count the number of gingerbread man cookies “hidden” in the public areas of the library. The winner will be selected in a drawing of the tally cards bearing the correct number of cookies.
