Performance Management: Producing Success or the Honorable Exit
This experiential workshop provides supervisors, managers, and HR professionals the skills to manage performance as an ongoing process. During the first half of the session participants learn essential skills needed to set clear expectations, document key performance behaviors, as well as provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees. The primary objective is to enable success. The second half of the session prepares managers to effectively resolve ongoing performance problems. Once it has been determined that an individual is not either willing or able to improve their performance to meet expectations, termination is necessary. This session provides the tools to manage the conversations and documentation process that has the potential to lead to termination. The primary objective is learning to give people an honorable exit.
Participants will learn about:
* Setting and communicating expectations
* Developing documentation based on facts and observable behaviors
* Planning and delivering feedback and coaching employees toward success
* How to make the decision to terminate
* Preparing for termination
* The honorable exit - a concise termination meeting
