Saturday, October 24, 2020, 7:00 PM (MT)
Live-streamed at http://www.rialtotheatercenter.org/loveland-opera-theatre/
Loveland Opera Theatre is excited to announce that we will be producing a “live-streamed” Rodgers and Hammerstein Jubilee concert on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 7 pm at the Rialto Theater in Loveland in lieu of our production of Brigadoon. Soloists include Emily Morris and Anna Piper, sopranos; Dana Kinney and Caitlin Moore, mezzo-sopranos; Nathan Snyder, tenor; and Schyler Vargas, baritone along with the Loveland Opera Theatre Chorus who will perform virtually. This concert will be produced in partnership with the Rialto Theater, LOT’s main artistic home, as we wish to show our support in keeping the Rialto Theater in business and the Rialto staff employed by continuing to perform in their space.
Rodgers and Hammerstein understood people and their need for love and connection as well as their struggle with justice and hope. Although many of their songs were written over a half-century ago, their themes of facing adversity head-on, learning to respect each other’s differences and the importance of human connection resound throughout their songs. Some of their most popular musicals include The Sound of Music, Oklahoma, South Pacific, and The King and I.
