SOUND OF MUSIC at Mountain View High School

CIA, The Caught in the Act players are doing it again with "The Sound Of Music". We perform on March 2nd, 3rd, and 9th at 7:00 PM. And a final matinee performance on March 10th at 2 PM.

 

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant, Maria (played by Alyssa Tomalino) proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain (played by Griffin Epperson). Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre. The motion picture version remains the most popular movie musical of all time. With Guest artist Liz Ryan.  Liz received her vocal training at the Manhattan School of Music and has been performing opera and musical theater in Colorado since 2001. And also having join us we have Camille Nugent playing young Gretl. Camille has been performing since she was old enough to make eye contact. She has done piano recitals, dance performances, a poetry recitation and a radio show. We also have Audra Axline performing as Marta here in the show with us. This is Audra's first show with us here at Caught In the Act Productions, and we are so thrilled to have her, and the rest of our guest performers joining us for "The Sound of Music" !
