It’s that time again – the only event in Northern Colorado that invites you to mix your cocktail attire with your tool belt! In their first-ever partnership, Loveland and Fort Collins Habitats for Humanity are proud to present the 7th Annual Hard Hat, Black Tie fundraising gala, "Voyage to Africa".
The event, which carries a different international theme each year, will be emceed by Emmy
Award winning journalist Tamara Banks, the host of Denver’s KBDI’s Studio 12. Ms. Banks
has traveled extensively in Africa and will bring a unique and exciting perspective to the
evening. Also attending will be Youseri Makar, Habitat Global Director from Africa who will
speak about Habitat International’s work in Africa.
“This is always such a great event, and we are delighted to have Loveland Habitat join us this
year. Together, we hope the event will be even a greater success than we have enjoyed in the
past, which will mean we can raise much-needed funds to build homes in both our cities,”
said Candace Mayo, Executive Director of Fort Collins Habitat.
Loveland Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Gwen Stephenson concurs. “We are very
excited about the event and the fact it will not only raise money to help build homes in our
two communities, but also for Habitat in Africa. As an international organization, Habitat
helps fill a large need and mission all over the world. We are honored to be a part of that,”
she said. “Our communities have been very supportive of our building efforts and this
support will be seen the night of the Gala as we hear from our families.”

About Habitat for Humanity:
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that empowers low-income families by
partnering with them to build affordable housing. Habitat does not give the houses away,
but rather sells them to families in need through no-profit loans. Qualified families also
contribute hundreds of sweat equity hours in the building of their home alongside hundreds
of community volunteers who give of their time and talents.
