On November 5, 2010, Thompson Education Foundation will be hosting a concert to launch the Arts &Technology initiative! Proceeds of this concert will go toward the development of a fund that will purchase technology for art programs throughout Thompson School District. This is the first in a series of concerts to be offered by the foundation and future events are in the works to benefit technology for art programs.

In art education, technology will continue to have a profound effect on the teaching of art. Art educators will continually be confronted with the challenge of integrating new information and technology into their art curriculum to keep up with current trends and work-ready conditions. Art programs are often the first to get cut in budget considerations and technology for the arts is low on the priority list for district funding. It is Thompson Education Foundation?s goal to raise funds to purchase needed technology for art within the school district. Thompson Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that cultivates educational opportunities for students in the Thompson School District. This new initiative is one of many projects that Thompson Education Foundation has helped to fund since its inception in 1989.
