Writing with (and without) AI
About This Event
We use writing as a tool to communicate every day at work. But most of us wish we could write less. AI writing tools seem like the obvious advantage — until you discover that correct and fast isn't the same as effective. Your language is as unique to you as your fingerprint, and AI writing makes your words sound like anyone's, which can kill trust.
AI can write with you, but it can't write for you. It doesn't know what you meant, what your audience expects, or what matters in your organization. This session helps small business owners and professionals understand what AI writing tools can and can't do — and how to use them strategically.
Attendees will learn how to design prompts that give AI what it needs to produce useful rough drafts, and what to revise so the final product actually sounds like them.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to
- Identify which writing tasks are good candidates for AI and which require a human hand
- Write prompts that give AI the context it needs to produce useful output
- Revise AI-generated drafts to eliminate generalizations, overused language, and off-tone content
- Preserve their own voice and credibility in any writing that uses AI assistance
Who Should Attend?
This workshop helps small business owners use AI writing tools to save time without sounding like a robot. You will learn how to give AI the right instructions so it writes helpful first drafts, and how to edit that text so it still sounds like you and keeps your clients' trust.
