JOB TITLE: Business Director
JOB LOCATION: Loveland, CO
EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time on site

SALARY RANGE: $ 55,000 - $65,000 (Dependent upon experience and education)
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
Mission:
Thompson Valley Preschool builds the foundation for a child’s future school success and lifelong learning by offering affordable access to quality educational experiences.
Position Summary:
The Business Director is responsible for the business operations of the preschool. Thompson Valley Preschool, Inc., is a non-profit organization which provides a high, quality early childhood educational program serving low to moderate income families in the Loveland and surrounding community.
Responsibilities include fiscal management, resource development/management, grant management, strategic planning, human resources, facility maintenance, and volunteer supervision. Additional responsibilities include collection and maintenance of enrollment information; tracking and recording tuition payments and administration of scholarships; and staff assistance as needed.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, team member skilled in accounting practices, and comfortable multi-tasking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the organization
- Follow legal responsibilities associated with a 501(c)(3)
- Report to and work with officers and members of the Board of Directors
- Ensure program implementation in compliance with organization’s policies and procedures
- Maintain a working knowledge of developments and trends in early childhood

Fiscal Management:
- Maintain sound financial practices, including bookkeeping and payroll utilizing QuickBooks, and generating financials reports
- Work with the board to create and manage the annual budget
- Present financial reports at quarterly Board of Director (BOD) meetings
- Coordinate end of year fiscal processes
- Oversee contracts and MOUs with contractors and community partners

Resource Development and Management:
- Research and initiate resource opportunities including grants and fundraising activities
- Work with the Board to monitor resources, create financial strategies, and support fundraising efforts
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors
- Maintain community outreach including relationships, collaborations, and communication

Grant Management:
- Grant writing including collaborative grants with other organizations
- Track grants and grant contracts to ensure compliance with funder requirements
- Maintain relationships with funders
Strategic Planning:
- In conjunction with the BOD, develop the organization’s strategic plan
- Track progress of goals, including monitoring of activities
- Engage in quality improvement assessments
- Oversee data collection, evaluation activities, and preparation of related reports

Human Resources:
- Administer HR functions including on-boarding, personnel records, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and best practices
- Support Director with teacher orientation, training, and evaluation
- Act as a resource to staff with HR related procedures

Facility Maintenance:
- Oversee and manage the schedule of routine maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment, including repairs; ensures safety and cleanliness of facility
Enrollment / Tuition:
- Oversee enrollment, conduct tours in coordination with the Director; manage UPK enrollment
- Oversee and track tuition and scholarships
Volunteer Supervision:
- Oversee volunteers (parents and community members) and tasks

- Bachelor’s Degree and/or at minimum of 3 years executive or management experience, preferably
- Experience in business administration including proficiency with QuickBooks
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Familiar with Outcome measurements
- Strong organizational, communication, both oral and written, and problem-solving skills,
- Certified in CPR and First Aid training
Job Benefits:
Salary Range $ 55,000 - $65,000 (Dependent upon experience and education)
Salary based on 50-week year (part-time in summer) including a Wellness stipend
Vacation – 10 days (Increases after year 1)
