THOMPSON EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 6^th ANNUAL SCHEER FUND GOLF TOURNAMENT
           
Loveland, CO - July 1, 2026              
Thompson Education Foundation (TEF) is pleased to announce its 6th Annual Scheer Fund Golf Tournament, taking place Friday, August 7th at Mariana Butte Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit TEF's Scheer Student Opportunity Fund.
 
The Scheer Student Opportunity Fund provides gap funding for Thompson School District (TSD) students to pursue academic, leadership, recognition, and extracurricular opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible due to financial need. The fund honors the legacy of Dr. Stan Scheer, who served as TSD superintendent for five years and was known for quietly and generously providing personal financial assistance to students in need.
 
The golf tournament offers district staff and community members a meaningful way to come together in support of TSD students.
 
"Now in its sixth year, our golf tournament has become a cornerstone community event — one that reflects the generosity and dedication Dr. Scheer embodied every day," said Kim Akeley-Charron, TEF Executive Director. "Every dollar raised goes directly toward ensuring students have access to the opportunities they deserve."
